Hi everyone!  Here is a little info on me and where the idea for these books came from. I have a BS in psychology, and miss college.  If someone tells you learning is fun don’t laugh at them or throw tomatoes, they may be telling the truth! I have a minor in fitness and personal training certification through ACSM. I’ve taught dance for fitness to young kids and adults, sold gym equipment, gym memberships and been a personal trainer. I was 1 of 16 trainers in a competition to be a Nike spokesperson in 2005 and didn’t win but had a lot of fun.

 
 
 


   
   
   
   
 

I have a background in science and working in laboratories. My thesis in college was to establish whether exercise is beneficial after traumatic brain injury, which in fact it is!
Who would think that after a major brain injury you should go for a walk and get a little exercise and actually not just rest.  Don’t believe me? Look it up!


 
 
 

I am not a writer by occupation or by nature but I was compelled to write these books while training as a way to hopefully teach children about fitness in a way that is easy, fun, and memorable. (hopefully!)

I was compelled to write them after continuously hearing about rising childhood obesity rates and the short and long term effects on health.  I was an active, dirty-kneed child and in my mind the best part of childhood was running around playing games.
